Hot New Search Engine Trick
It is always a supreme pleasure when Jerry West drops in on our free Tuesday night teleclass (see http://DrNunley.com/teleclass_info.htm).
Jerry works full-time as a search engine expert for Web Marketing Now. Last week he had a smart new strategy that could quickly boost business for all of us.
These simple five steps increased Jerry's hits by almost 40%. The method revolves around building a few pages for your site that are just what the search engine Ask Jeeves is looking for.
1. Think of a question or two that customers ask you again and again. In my line people ask "Where can I get cheap ads?" and "How can I send out a press release?" These are the kinds of questions a LOT of people Ask Jeeves.
2. Put your question in the Title of your page (the line that shows up in the little box on your browser).
3. Put the answer to your question in the Description area of your Meta Tags (see AltaVista.com's `submit url' page for a good explanation of how to do this).
4. Write your question as a big headline at the top of your page. Talk about the question and its answer in some copy on your page and include a links to main pages of your website.
5. Register your question page with AltaVista.com, HotBot.com, and Teoma.com. These are the search engines Ask Jeeves looks through when finding an answer to a visitor's question.
