Market to New Employees

If your job is to sell to businesses, make your pitch to new employees. New managers and department heads are often eager to make changes and are easier to interest in a different product or service.

New receptionists and secretaries are more likely to let you through to the person who writes the checks, even if you aren't a familiar face.

Long-time employees tend to cherish old ways of doing things (this isn't an iron-clad rule, but you will see it is often the case). By our human nature, we all tend to want to fend off change once we have become accustomed to the situation.

New employees are eager to prove they have fresh ideas that can improve the company. They are usually less comfortable with old ways of doing things.

Watch newsletters, trade publications, and the business section of your local paper for personnel changes.
